Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy applies to “consumer health data” that FindBack AI LLC (“FindBack”) collects through the FindBack AI app, portal and website, as that term is defined by Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar state laws. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Categories of consumer health data we collect
- Information in lost or found reports about items that can reveal a health condition or treatment: hearing aids, medication, medical devices (such as an insulin pump or a glucose monitor), mobility aids and prescription eyewear, including the category, description, photos, and the date and area of the loss.
- Information in claims, ownership evidence and messages about those items, for example a description of a prescription label used to prove ownership.
We do not ask for diagnoses, medical records or health insurance information, and we don’t infer health conditions from other data.
Why we collect it and how we use it
- To match your report with found items and return your item to you.
- To let the finder or institution holding the item verify that it’s yours.
- To prioritize matching for medical items, because losing them can affect your health.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
We collect and use this data only as needed to provide the lost-and-found service you ask for. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Sources
- You, when you report, claim or message about an item.
- Finders and institutions (such as airports, transit agencies, campuses and venues) when they log an item they found.
Categories of consumer health data we share, and with whom
- The finder or institution holding a matching item: the item details and claim evidence needed to decide your claim and return the item.
- The public: for lost reports for hearing aids, medication, medical devices and mobility aids, only the category, an approximate area and the date; the description and photos are hidden by default. Reports for prescription eyewear are shown like other reports, so leave health details out of the public description.
- Our service providers (processors) that host and operate the Service on our behalf, listed on our Trust & security page.
- Law enforcement or regulators when the law requires it.
FindBack has no affiliates that receive consumer health data.
